Funding to build stronger more connected communities

East Herts Council is pleased to announce that its discretionary Community Grants Programme 2020/21 is now open for applications that will address our new priorities around creating stronger, more connected communities, leading to improved health and wellbeing for all residents. Priorities are:

  • Arts and cultural activities that increase residents' wellbeing and further the aims of the Hertfordshire Year of Culture 2020
  • Community issues, including engaging and consulting
  • Health for all
  • High quality, accessible and environmentally sustainable community buildings and green spaces

For the first time, grants between £100 and £300 will be available to individuals and informal groups that are proposing projects that benefit the wider community. Larger grants up to £8,000 are available to constituted groups and other not-for-profit organisations seeking to deliver projects. To apply and find out whether you are eligible, go to

Deadline for large applications is 5pm 31 March 2020. If you miss this first funding round, don't worry as there will another round in the autumn. All potential applicants are expected to contact the Grants Officer Claire on or 01992531459 to discuss your ideas.
