REMINDER: Standon Parish Neighbourhood Plan Referendum

Standon Parish Neighbourhood Development Plan

A group of committed parishioners have spent the last three years putting together the Standon Parish Neighbourhood Development Plan. The aim of producing the Plan is to ensure local people have a voice in decisions over our Parish and whether future planning applications are approved or not. Now it has been completed a referendum is to take place to ensure parishioners approve of its content. The referendum is to be held on Thursday 25 July 2019 and all those eligible to vote will receive a Poll Card in the post.

The referendum question on the ballot paper is '"Do you want East Hertfordshire District Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Standon Parish to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?"

If you vote 'yes' to this question it will give us a voice in the future of our Parish. A 'no' vote could open the door to more developments than those that have already been granted. Should this happen the Parish and its infrastructure and support services will struggle to cope and the shape of our village will change forever.

The Plan and associated documents can be viewed online at or alternatively at Something Lovely in Puckeridge and the Post Office in Standon.

There will be an open session on Saturday 20th July in the Lankester Lounge of the Community Centre between 10am and 12 noon.
